Working in banking and financial education across Uganda and Canada, I kept seeing people asked to make complex financial decisions before they had the context to understand them. Newcomers were learning a second financial system while diaspora families were managing money across borders, with education, remittances and financial tools often treated as separate problems. I built Money Wing around a simpler sequence: learn first, build confidence, then use technology to move money. The goal is not another transfer app. It is a financial experience designed around understanding, inclusion and diaspora life.
Money Wing starts with practical financial literacy. The first job is to help people understand decisions, systems and tradeoffs before asking them to use more complex financial tools.

Founder Biography
Alex Ahabwe is a Ugandan-Canadian entrepreneur, former international banker, financial literacy educator, author and community leader based in Toronto, Canada.
At Money Wing, Alex brings together three parts of his career that rarely sit in one founder story: banking experience in Africa and Canada, formal financial literacy work, and lived familiarity with diaspora and cross-border financial realities. That combination shapes Money Wing's focus on education, inclusion, remittance confidence and practical fintech.
He is the Founder & CEO of Loyalty Solutions Inc., a diversified Canadian company with ventures spanning fintech, logistics, tourism, hospitality, events, the African coffee industry, culture and heritage.
With more than a decade of professional experience across Africa and Canada, Alex has built a career at the intersection of banking, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, innovation and community development. His banking experience includes leadership roles at Opportunity Bank Uganda and professional experience with TD Canada Trust and Royal Bank of Canada.
He is a Certified Financial Literacy Trainer accredited by the Bank of Uganda and contributed to the Be Money Wiser financial education initiative. Alex holds a bachelor's degree from Makerere University, Canadian diploma and postgraduate qualifications, and is pursuing a Global MBA at Hult International Business School with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
His entrepreneurial and leadership journey includes participation in fellowships, accelerators, innovation ecosystems and executive development programs across Canada, the United States and Africa. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Toronto and has served in Founder, CEO, Board Chair, Director and Board Member capacities within business, Black-led, immigrant-serving, cultural and community organizations in Canada.
